Join us this morning as we celebrate Pentecost!
Pentecost, observed 50 days after Easter, commemorates the pivotal moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles and other believers in Jerusalem, as described in the Book of Acts. This event empowered them to speak in diverse languages and boldly proclaim the Gospel, marking the birth of the Christian Church. For the Black church, Pentecost holds profound significance. The spirit of Pentecost—the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the emphasis on direct spiritual experience, and the communal expression of faith—is deeply embedded in our worship and theological understanding.
