The Mount Newsletter for November 1, 2026

Today is the Day!

We are hours away from our 2026 "Be the Church" Outreach Sunday. There are about 150 Mount Members assigned to over 50 projects. We are excited once again to show God's love to our community in tangible ways and grateful for the opportunity to do it!

A few notes to help make this a phenomenal experience for all:

  • Come ready to serve with love, compassion, and patience.
  • Get a good night's sleep and come ready to be a Christ representer, whatever your assignment!
  • Plan to arrive NO LATER THAN 9:45 AM. This will allow us to start promptly at 10:00 AM. (Remember, clocks "fall back" overnight)
  • If you ordered a "We don't just go to church" t-shirt but haven't picked it up yet, please plan to get to church in enough time to do a quick change.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Click here to join PhotoCircle. You can see and post photos of the event. We are not trying to exploit anyone, so please get permission from the people we serve before taking photos that include their faces.
  • We were able to assign most people to their first preference. Please honor your assignment.
  • If you did not register by the deadline but will be there, you have not been assigned to an outreach event. We will assign you to fill in the gaps.
  • Part of the purpose of "Be the Church" is for us to get to know one another, so we do not typically partner you with your spouse or siblings intentionally. Parents, children 12 and younger will be assigned to go with you. Please honor the assignment you are given. We are praying that you'll meet a new Mount Member as you serve together.
  • We are not gathering again after the outreach, so once your team completes your assignment, you are welcome to go home.
  • While we are not having a worship service, we do ask that members still give your tithes, offerings, Rebuilding the Wall, and/or missions gifts. You can click here to give online or bring your check/cash/money order tomorrow.

In an effort to keep everyone safe during worship and ministry activities, our Trustees are asking all members and guests to help us maintain a secure environment. In this current climate, we must all do our part to stay vigilant and protect one another. Please remember the following important guidelines:

Be aware of your surroundings at all times while on church property. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, notify a Trustee or Staff Person immediately.

Do not prop open any exterior doors under any circumstances. All doors should remain closed and locked unless they are being actively monitored.

Arrive on Time for Worship: Arriving on time also helps us maintain a secure environment, as it reduces the need to open the exterior doors multiple times once worship has begun.

Exit the building promptly after worship and other events so that our Trustees can properly secure the church.

Thank you for partnering with us to make Sixth Mount Zion a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
