The Mount Newsletter for October 28, 2026

Join us TODAY for a Bible Study on Tamar from 2 Samuel 13. We'll be tackling some taboo topics. Come for the lesson, stay for the discussion.

Sunday is the Day!

We hope you are excited to help us show our community that "we don't just go to church, we ARE the church!"

On Sunday morning, those who signed up, we ask that you get to church by 9:30AM, but please arrive NO LATER THAN 9:45AM. We have over 50 group assignments that we need to disperse so it is really important that we start at 10:00 AM with prayer and a centering moment.

Everyone should wear comfortable shoes and your "We Don't Just Go to Church" shirt or a SMZBC shirt. If you don't have a church shirt, that's ok too.

Remember, part of the purpose of "Be the Church" is for us to get to know one another, so we do not typically partner you with your spouse or siblings intentionally. Parents, children 12 and younger will be assigned to go with you. Please honor the assignment you are given.

We ask that you get a good night's sleep and come ready to be a Christ representer, whatever your assignment!

Once again, we will be using the PhotoCircle App to share pictures and short videos of Sunday's Don't Go to Church, Be the Church outreach. Even if you are not participating, download the app so you can see the great work our congregation is doing. We've already uploaded photos of the Mount Market Prep work, check it out!

In an effort to keep everyone safe during worship and ministry activities, our Trustees are asking all members and guests to help us maintain a secure environment. In this current climate, we must all do our part to stay vigilant and protect one another. Please remember the following important guidelines:

Be aware of your surroundings at all times while on church property. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, notify a Trustee or Staff Person immediately.

Do not prop open any exterior doors under any circumstances. All doors should remain closed and locked unless they are being actively monitored.

Arrive on Time for Worship: Arriving on time also helps us maintain a secure environment, as it reduces the need to open the exterior doors multiple times once worship has begun.

Exit the building promptly after worship and other events so that our Trustees can properly secure the church.

Thank you for partnering with us to make Sixth Mount Zion a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
