The Mount Newsletter for December 24, 2025

If you are available, please join us for Christmas Eve worship this evening at 6:00 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church (right around the corner from SMZBC). Our Mass Choir will be ministering.

This is the last Sunday of the year. Some Mount Members have generously contributed throughout 2025, and for that we are thankful. There are others who could do more, but have not done so yet. For those who are in a financial position to do so, we ask that you give before the year ends. It would be great for you to give online between now and December 31st so the gift will count for 2025 (see below for all the options). We welcome your cash, check, or money orders in-person on Sunday. If you are sending in your gift via postal mail, we need to receive it by Tuesday, December 30th to deposit on December 31st.

You are invited to travel with the Victory Senior Adult Ministry to the Sight and Sound Theatre to experience the play, "Joshua." You don't want to miss one of the most redemptive stories of the Bible come to life on stage. For prices and more information, see Sister Rose Carter or Trustee Jane Woodson.

In an effort to keep everyone safe during worship and ministry activities, our Trustees are asking all members and guests to help us maintain a secure environment. In this current climate, we must all do our part to stay vigilant and protect one another. Please remember the following important guidelines:

Be aware of your surroundings at all times while on church property. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, notify a Trustee or Staff Person immediately.

Do not prop open any exterior doors under any circumstances. All doors should remain closed and locked unless they are being actively monitored.

Arrive on Time for Worship: Arriving on time also helps us maintain a secure environment, as it reduces the need to open the exterior doors multiple times once worship has begun.

Exit the building promptly after worship and other events so that our Trustees can properly secure the church.

Thank you for partnering with us to make Sixth Mount Zion a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
