The Mount Newsletter for October 4, 2026

Church School returns THIS MORNING at 9:30 AM! If you're reading this at 8:00 AM, you still have time to eat a quick breakfast, get dressed, and meet us at The Mount. There are classes for Men, Women, and Children & Youth.

Then, stay for worship at 10:45 AM when our young people will lead us in worship and in the ministry of music, and Pastor Nelson will preach a message that is sure to encourage us all.

The first lesson in our Hush Harbor Healing Bible Study series set the stage for where we are going over the next few weeks. If you missed it, check it out below and plan to join us live this Wednesday.

We spent all summer talking about "Becoming the Church".
Now, we have an opportunity to "Be the Church!"

Our “Don’t Go to Church, Be the Church Outreach” will take place on Sunday, November 1st.
For new members, this is when we cancel "regular" Sunday morning worship in order to serve God's people in real time. Registration begins today, Wednesday. Registration is necessary to help us plan for the number of outreach activities we can offer.
Please note: if you do not register, you will not be assigned.

Parking for Second Street

The Second Street Festival is going on, rain or shine. This year, we will be charging the community to park on our paved parking lots. As we did last year, Mount Members are able to park on the lot for FREE with a parking pass. Passes will be available to pick up after worship. Please remember, this is for MOUNT MEMBERS. Your family and friends are welcome to park at the church for a FEE. Towing will be enforced on the grassy lot and for those who do not pay and include their license plate number.

In an effort to keep everyone safe during worship and ministry activities, our Trustees are asking all members and guests to help us maintain a secure environment. In this current climate, we must all do our part to stay vigilant and protect one another. Please remember the following important guidelines:

Be aware of your surroundings at all times while on church property. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, notify a Trustee or Staff Person immediately.

Do not prop open any exterior doors under any circumstances. All doors should remain closed and locked unless they are being actively monitored.

Arrive on Time for Worship: Arriving on time also helps us maintain a secure environment, as it reduces the need to open the exterior doors multiple times once worship has begun.

Exit the building promptly after worship and other events so that our Trustees can properly secure the church.

Thank you for partnering with us to make Sixth Mount Zion a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
