The Mount Newsletter for March 18, 2026

Join us today for the final Bible Study in our Kwanzaa principles series. We will be discussing Imani, which means faith.

If you recently joined (or want to join) our church, you are invited to attend Sixth Mount Zion’s Virtual New Members Class. The next class is THIS EVENING!

FOR THOSE WHO NEED TO BE BAPTIZED
Please log on (
meetings.dialpad.com/smzbc) or call (804-203-9011) at 5:15 PM. We will have a short discussion about what baptism is and what baptism is not to make sure you understand and to give you information about what to expect. You will stay on the call for the New Members session at 5:30 PM.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN BAPTIZED
Please log on (
meetings.dialpad.com/smzbc) or call (804-203-9011) at 5:30 PM. We will have a discussion about our church, our mission, vision, and ministries. The session will last until around 6:15 PM.

Attending a New Members Session is required before you become an "official" member of Sixth Mount Zion with all the rights and privileges and responsibilities of a Mount Member. After baptism and New Members class, you will be ready to receive the Right Hand of Fellowship.

Plan to stay after worship next Sunday (March 22nd) for the short film and discussion about Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s work and ties to the Richmond region.

In an effort to keep everyone safe during worship and ministry activities, our Trustees are asking all members and guests to help us maintain a secure environment. In this current climate, we must all do our part to stay vigilant and protect one another. Please remember the following important guidelines:

Be aware of your surroundings at all times while on church property. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, notify a Trustee or Staff Person immediately.

Do not prop open any exterior doors under any circumstances. All doors should remain closed and locked unless they are being actively monitored.

Arrive on Time for Worship: Arriving on time also helps us maintain a secure environment, as it reduces the need to open the exterior doors multiple times once worship has begun.

Exit the building promptly after worship and other events so that our Trustees can properly secure the church.

Thank you for partnering with us to make Sixth Mount Zion a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
