The Mount Newsletter for February 15, 2026

It's our Founders' Day! Join us at 10:45 AM as we celebrate how God used 11 people to start a church that has stood the test of time for almost 16 decades.

Membes who are able are asked to give an additional $10.00 (or more) above their Tithes & Offerings for Founders' Day. Our budget goal for Founder's Day is $2,000.00, so that means we need 200 members to contribute. Please note on your envelope or online gift that it is for Founder's Day.

Come early for Church School at 9:30 AM (and to get a good parking space 😉)

The Whip, the Hammer, and the Cross Casting Call

Today is the deadline to sign up to be a part of the Whip, the Hammer, and the Cross. If we do not get more commitments, unfortunately, we will not present this illustrated sermon this year. We especially need some brothers to join the cast and crew. Please click the button to sign up today!

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18th. Each year, we prayerfully consider what we can sacrifice we can offer to God as we prepare for Resurrection Sunday. We present several options for members to consider. You may pick one sacrifice from one category or some choose to do one thing from each category. You DO NOT have to do it all, but we ask that you DO something. Seek God about what your Lenten journey should be.

In an effort to keep everyone safe during worship and ministry activities, our Trustees are asking all members and guests to help us maintain a secure environment. In this current climate, we must all do our part to stay vigilant and protect one another. Please remember the following important guidelines:

Be aware of your surroundings at all times while on church property. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, notify a Trustee or Staff Person immediately.

Do not prop open any exterior doors under any circumstances. All doors should remain closed and locked unless they are being actively monitored.

Arrive on Time for Worship: Arriving on time also helps us maintain a secure environment, as it reduces the need to open the exterior doors multiple times once worship has begun.

Exit the building promptly after worship and other events so that our Trustees can properly secure the church.

Thank you for partnering with us to make Sixth Mount Zion a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
